Xiaomi Mijia Garment Steamer 2 launches for $74

Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Garment Steamer 2 clothing steamer on its Youpin platform. The crowdfunding campaign opens on 6 April. Its usual price will be 599 yuan ($86), while the campaign offers an introductory price of 509 yuan ($74).

Mijia Garment Steamer 2 steam performance

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 delivers steam at 120 g/min, allowing it to tackle stubborn creases by penetrating deep into fabrics. A 500 kPa electromagnetic pump provides a strong, consistent steam flow, while a spray reach of up to 150 cm is intended for vertical steaming and hard-to-reach areas.

The steamer has a dual-heating arrangement, with separate boilers in the main unit and the iron. This produces dry steam with a microscopic concentration, helping to prevent garments from becoming damp. It reaches operating temperature in only 65 seconds, reducing the waiting time.

Fabric modes and temperature control

Xiaomi has included six dedicated ironing settings for common fabric types:

• Cotton - 145°C
• Silk - 110°C
• Synthetic fibres - 125°C
• Linen - 160°C
• Blended fabrics - 115°C
• Wool - 130°C

The device also uses NTC temperature-control technology to keep heating stable and help avoid fabric damage.

Ironing panel, water tank and hygiene claims

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 features an 8.75-inch ceramic-coated ironing panel. Its transparent water tank holds enough water to iron up to 15 garments, depending on the fabric type. The steamer supports dry ironing for shaping clothes as well as wet ironing to remove deep creases.

Xiaomi states that the garment steamer provides 99.99% sterilisation and 100% mite elimination.
